These are the genuine article manufactured in the USA. Unlike the cheaper (in quality but not price) imported mason type jars, these jars are manufactured to exacting standards to withstand the rigours of preserving in pressure cookers (canners) and all come with the patented Mason two piece dome lids and threaded bands. The ‘Can or Freeze’ styles have also been manufactured to be stored in the freezer.

                                                        

These jars are suitable for jams, jellies and relishes, the bottling of fruit and vegetables utilising the ‘hot water bath’ process, as well the preserving of meat, fish and low acid fruit and vegetables using the pressure canning process.

                                                           

The jars are sealed by placing a lid on the jar and then applying the metallic band which holds the lid in place. The lids have a protective inner coating that has been designed to withstand corrosion. After the bottling process is complete and a vacuum seal has been produced, the band can be removed and the lid will stay in place. The lids are designed for single use only, while the bands can be reused many times; there are no fiddly rubber rings or clips involved.

All Ball Mason jars come in a shrink wrapped box of 12 jars complete with lids and bands. (2 litre jars come in boxes of six only)
